Three Finnish cities -Tampere, Nokia, and Ylöjärvi- have regionally cooperated to create a large-scale industrial estate since 2005. The new estate is to be the largest in the region. Total area will be over 600 hectares.

The area is called in Finnish Kolmenkulma, "three's corner". The name reflects the location of the area on the borderlines of three neighbouring cities. Kolmenkulma is also in the hub of three main Finnish highways.

Already developed business areas included, Kolmenkulma forms a professional industrial estate of over 850 hectares. It is estimated the estate is to bring about over 10 000 employments.
